BNY Mellon

BNY Mellon's Shareowner Services web site is absolutely the most un-user-friendly piece of shit web site I've ever visited in my life. Even the feedback section sucks, which really shouldn't surprise me.

Nearly every link for help or forms sends you in a big fat circle, and you end up right the hell back where you started.

My advice to anyone considering Mellon is this: Don't. They suck, and how.

I have stock that is serviced through BNY Mellon and I agree that this company is horrible. Web site is s@#$ and their phone service is s@#$ too. Everyone is foreign (I have had my fill of that) so they can barely be understood. I will be selling all the stock I have just so I don't ever have to deal with this company again.

Glad I'm not the only one. I moved all my stock out of Melon. Fortunately, the company taking over dealt with Melon and all I had to do was sign the forms.

Oh...and they still suck. Want to change your address with them? Well, you can go online and try to do it, but if you're not already a registered user, then you'll have to wait for them to send you an authentication number through the, you guessed it, mail. You can go to their automated phone system to do it, but you need a pin for that and you cannot, contrary to what they say, just follow the prompts to create one...you have to wait 10-20 minutes for an exceptionally rude person to finally answer your call and tell you that you should have done this online. Fun city.

Their website is extremely frustrating to use. I am trying to move my money out of this company but am finding it impossible to log onto my account. Had to wait for an authentication number which took 10 business days to arrive. It finally arrived and no where on the site does it ask for this number. I work in IT and find this site impossible to maneuver around.

Bank of NY is the worst bank on the planet. Terrible service, terrible leadership. Should be put out of business. They have ruined the financial goals of myself and many others. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH BANK OF NEW YORK!

Pershing and Pershing Advisor Solutions which are part of Bank of New York are awful. How people actually trust them to be their custodian is amazing to me. They screwed up most of our investment accounts.

Yep... The site is the worst! Either through acquisitions or sheer idiocy they have multiple login id's. They currently use a Global ID, a Personal ID, and an Account id to access your account. The problem is that there is no assistance in understanding what these represent. In addition if you screw up, you're locked out. You have to call to get your account unlocked and it's so complicated their CSR's can't help. I understand that merging systems is difficult, but I seriously think they got a room full of preschoolers to design this.

Customer Service is terrible. The equity access is even worse... You can not even change your address online simply enough. It keeps giving you a message of please select account and when you select it, it de-selects itself. Then to top it off they pass you around from customer service rep to rep on the phone. If I did have another choice for my company stock I would choose the latter hands down.

bny sucks managers need people skills and they just transfer you from person to person in there cuz the managers are so damn rude noone wants to question them cuz they might just bite ur head off if you ask for more training..

I currently work for this company and they are beyond the worst. Poor working conditions, unequal promotion opportunities. I deal with the business lines everyday and I would never give these people my money to invest. I would rather put it under my mattress. Can you say the majority of workers are relics or just straight out retards. Go invest with a real firm. Not this Mickey Mouse club!

This company is horrible. They say they're bringing so many jobs to Pittsburgh but they conveniently leave out the part about all of the jobs that are being sent to their location in India. The management is awful. The training is non-existent. The culture is good if it's based upon how much ass you kiss. I started working there in 2001 and when I quit last year, it was a totally different company with a totally different culture.

You can always get phone help... but only during normal office hours! What a pile of crap their site is.

I am now closing my Legg Mason and Merdian accounts simply because of bnymellon. Both of my mutual funds are using these guys to give me account access. It is the worst I have ever seen! I can never get access with out it challenging me with "This device is recognized". It then wants to send you an email that you never receive. Go figure! It is a shame because these guys alone are costing Legg Mason and Meridian a customer! I am sure there will be more! Oh well!

Their web site continues to be a steaming pile. Let's log in --- oh wait, we'll send you an authorization email. Ok, got it! No problem! I'll enter the code and "We are unable to process your request. For further assistance please call 800-582-6757 to speak with a Customer Service Representative."

Oh, you mean my request TO LOG IN? Insanely bad. Moved all my stuff out of Domini so I wouldn't have to use this garbage pile again. Too bad I still need one more tax form...GAHHHH
